COURSE: Contemporary Acrylic Painting Course - Begins 10th of March
Tuesday 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st March
6.45 pm for 7 -9pm
If you have always wanted to try your hand at an expressive contemporary canvas but haven’t a clue where to start, then this is the course for you!
Led by workshop tutor and artist Elizabeth Macdonald, this four-week taster course will introduce you to the different types of acrylic paints that are available on the market and will explore the variety of techniques that can be applied with them. We will investigate how washes, layering techniques and the use of brushes and palette-knives can be applied to achieve various effects.
We will work as a group on tutor-guided projects and also independently to encourage individual expression. These are informal classes that will help you to develop confidence and knowledge and will inspire you to continue painting beyond the course. Students are also encouraged to practice at home between sessions in order to maximise progress.
Materials are included for each session, however we strongly advise you to invest in the following:
Two basic brushes
Having your own materials will enable you to build upon your skills at home after each session which will consequently aid in your progression over the four weeks. The materials can be purchased prior to the course or ordered through the tutor. For further information please email firstname.lastname@example.org
No experience necessary, just an open mind and ability to make mistakes.
Suitable for beginners or artists wanting to try new techniques.
Please note accessibility may be restricted due to stairs into the workshop area.
