Chris Ross Williamson

Chris Ross Williamson was born in Croydon, and later studied Illustration at Barnfield College, Luton. After training as a graphic designer and working in several respectable positions within the design and advertising sector, he now paints full time - creating his characterful pieces in his quiet studio in Corton, Suffolk, with panoramic views of the sea.

Chris works predominantly in oil on panel, his work features a Jack Russel dog (Barton Darcy), and his owner, (Garfield Eldritch). Simple ditties accompany the work - 4 line poems about the work as the dog sees it. Often described as naive or quirky, his paintings usually feature the British east coast with occasional trips to say, London or Cambridge also. Landscape and vernacular architecture feature  heavily as a backdrop, and humour is often evident. “I like to give people a grin if I can”.
