David O'Brien
During a holiday to Barcelona in the 1990’s, O’Brien became inspired by the architecture of Antoni Gaudi, particularly the mosaic sculptures and monuments in Park Guell; his passion for mosaic art was thus ignited.
Always inspired by art and culture before deciding to pursue art as a career himself, O’Brien draws upon influences such as iconic music album covers, works of fine art, rare racing cars, retro posters and iconic buildings.
Discipline and patience are paramount in the production of each artwork. Every mosaic is completely unique and made with great attention to detail. O’Brien sets himself high standards and will not be happy to sell a piece of his art unless he would be happy to display it in his own home.
Now living in rural Lancashire with his wife and two children, O’Brien’s creative career is growing from strength to strength as his work is exhibited in more and more galleries across the country; we are happy to introduce him to our gallery here in Chester this summer.
