A local artist from Cheshire, Emma graduated from the University of Chester in 2009 after studying Fine Art and Graphic Design. In that same year, a commercial gallery offered Emma a solo exhibition after recognising her talent immediately - a fantastic start at such an early stage of her career. Since then, Emma has regularly exhibited across the country gaining many admirers and collectors of her work.
Emma's work is portraiture-based and combines striking, vivid colour with expressive, abstracted motifs that have a street-art edge. Music has always been an important source of inspiration for the artist and in 2017, she was commissioned to produce a piece of art to commemorate a debut event for the global music giant Spotify! This resulted in a painting which was a fantastic fusion of her style with Grime and Hip Hop influences.
'I use myself as the physical subject which feels natural to me due to the introspective nature, emphasising the emotion with the surrounding background.'
'Each piece represents feelings and states of being, reflecting my quest to find inner peace. My work comes from the heart, and is truly soulful.'
