Jack Vettriano

Heavily influenced by film-noir, Jack Vettriano paintings have gathered worldwide acclaim with many of his limited edition prints being sold out.

Jack Vettriano was born in Fife, Scotland in 1951, before leaving school at 16 to work as an engineer. With no formal art training, Vettriano found his calling when painting in his spare time at the age of 21, under his birth name Jack Hoggan. In 1988 he received his breakthrough in the form of two paintings being accepted by the Royal Scottish Academy which both sold out on the first day. The following years have seen him grow in commercial success and he is now regarded as one of the most successful artists of the modern age.

Jack Vettriano's original prints transform cinema into still life, with the focus often being on romance scenes that feel fresh out of old Hollywood but rejuvenated into the modern-day by an invigorating use of colour.
