Linda Charles

Linda Charles was born in 1969 in the Southeast of England. After attending Herriot Watt University in Scotland where she studied textiles and fashion launched a full time career as a professional artist in the late 90's.
This background in textile and fashion has been evident throughout her work which is heavily textured and makes use of many forms of mixed media including gold and silver leaf.
Living in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, and not living far from the National Trust’s Hatfield Forest, Linda enjoys drawing on these beautiful surroundings for inspiration whilst walking her beloved Golden Retriever, Douglas.
With a career spanning over 25 years Linda continues to use her vast experience and enjoys exploring new techniques and mediums to produce striking collections.
In the early 2000's Linda became one of the most prolific abstract artists throughout the UK. At the advent of the interior design boom, Linda’s use of structure, texture, bold colours and gold and silver leaf propelled her into mainstream contemporary art. Her original pieces became collectable and still feature in many galleries and private collections all over the world.
