Sarah Spofforth-McOuat

Sarah Spofforth-McOuat

Sarah trained as an Interior Designer at Manchester Metropolitan University and later worked for several architects in Liverpool and Manchester, however her real passion was painting.

After moving to Scotland and marrying a farmer, her inspiration naturally became the farm animals that now surrounded her. Creating highly textured pieces, she incorporates plaster and fabric samples into her paintings along with expressive brushwork which consequently emphasises the energy and character of her subjects.

After initially introducing her paintings to local craft markets, Sarah has since launched work at events such as Country Living and The Royal Highland Show. Producing commissions and exhibiting widely throughout the UK, her work can be found in homes from America to New Zealand.
